49ers' GM: A.J. Jenkins is still learning the offense

Even though wide receiver A.J. Jenkins didn't contribute on offense this past season, the San Francisco 49ers are still very confident in the former first round pick.

"We're very confident in his ability as we were when we drafted him," 49ers general manager Trent Baalke said, per the Sacramento Bee. "And now it's time for him to go back to work, and this offseason's going to be a big offseason. These guys we've always said their biggest growth is between Year 1 and Year 2. So we're expected that to happen this year, and certainly in AJ's case."

Baalke admitted that Jenkins is still learning their offense.

"He's a young guy that came out of a college system that's taken a while to grasp to the pro system," Baalke said. "It's not a work ethic issue, it's not a skill set issue. It's learning the craft at the pro level. And that's a position historically that some have adapted to more quickly than others."

The 49ers are going to need Jenkins to make an impact in
