Safety Dashon Goldson confirmed on Twitter that the-San Francisco 49ers didn't place the franchise tag on him for a second straight year.

I'm very thankful I didn't get the franchise tag again but still hopeful this means something long term with the San Francisco 49ers!

We mentioned earlier today that Goldson is looking for $8 million per year. -I don't see the 49ers paying him that kind of money. -He's likely headed for free agency.
