Eligibility requirements
This contest is open to all legal U.S. residents who are least 25 years of age, reside in one of the Nine Bay Area counties consisting of: Sonoma, Napa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, San Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa and Solano counties, have a valid California Class C Driver’s License, can obtain automobile insurance in amounts required by law, and are able to utilize the prize awarded in the contest, except for employees of: KNBR-AM, KSAN-FM, KNBR-AM, Prostar Wireless, CumulusMedia Partners LLC, Sprint/Nextel, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, and Skip Barber Racing School, other radio stations, contest sponsors and each of their respective agencies, representatives, and their immediate family members. The term "immediate family members" includes spouses, parents, siblings, grandparents, children, grandchildren and cohabiting significant others.
HOW TO ENTER
To enter to win, go to any of the nine (9) participating Prostar Wireless retail locations, listed on knbr.com and on 1077thebone.com, from March 3, 2008-March 23, 2008 and fill out an official electronic entry form. Difficulties in getting to appearance locations to enter the contest are not the responsibility of KSAN-FM, KNBR-AM, or Prostar Wireless.
Entries from all fifteen (15)Prostar Wireless locations will be combined for the final drawing. Two (2) winners will be selected in a random drawing that will take place on Monday, March 24, 2008 and the (2) winners will be notified by phone that same day.
The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries.
A Contestant will be disqualified and therefore ineligible to win the prize for any of the following reasons:
The Contestant does not meet the eligibility requirements set forth above;
The Contestant fails to complete the registration form and/or the registration form is not legible or accurate;
The Contestant violates these rules or fails to meet any other eligibility requirements.
As a condition to receiving the prize, the winner will be required to sign an eligibility affidavit and liability release forms before the prize will be awarded. The winner must come to KSAN-FM/KNBR-AM, on a mutually agreed date and time to fill out W-9, Supplemental Earnings Forms, and all other paperwork associated with the winning of this prize. Participants will be required to sign a Release and Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement prior to participation.
Prize
(2) Winners (one winner +1 guest per station) will receive the following:
60 minutes of lap time in either a An ‘Indy style’’ open-wheeler or a professionally raced Mazda MX-5 Miata ‘‘Cup’’ car
an understanding of vehicle dynamics
race-style downshifting
"competition" braking & cornering techniques
The approximate retail value of the prize is $595.00.
Two (2) Runners Up will receive an official sponsor racing jacket.
Prize must be utilized by September 30, 2008. The prize is non-transferable and is not redeemable for cash or alternative prize substitution. All taxes and associated fees are the responsibility of the prize winner.
KSAN-FM, KNBR-AM, Prostar Wireless , Cumulus Media Partners LLC, Sprint/Nextel, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, and Skip Barber Racing School will not be responsible for and provide no warranties regarding the prize. It is possible that the prize will not be awarded. KSAN-FM, KNBR-AM, and Cumulus Media Partners LLC shall not be responsible for the failure of participating sponsors to deliver the prizes or any part thereof as described herein.
KSAN-FM, KNBR-AM, and Cumulus Media Partners LLC, reserve the right to make rules or contest changes without notice at any time and reserve the right to change the aforementioned contest date(s) without notice. The decisions of KSAN-FM, KNBR-AM, and Cumulus Media Partners LLC in the administration of the contest and the interpretation of these rules is final. KSAN-FM, KNBR-AM, Prostar Wireless , Cumulus Media Partners LLC, Sprint/Nextel, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, and Skip Barber Racing School their representatives, agencies and employees are not responsible for any injuries, damages or any liability arising directly or indirectly from participation in the contest or the award or use of this prize. By participating in the contest, Contestants agree to be bound by the decisions of the judges and the official contest rules.
If, after the contest has begun, changes or updates to the contest rules are made, the changes will be announced at approximately 7:30am on the day that the change is to take effect. In addition, an addendum outlining the changes will be available in the station lobby.
By participating in this contest, each Contestant agrees to waive any and all claims for damages for death, personal injury, loss of property or property damage that he or she may sustain as a result of his or her participation in the contest or the use of any prize and to release Cumulus Media Partners LLC, Radio Stations KSAN-FM, KNBR-AM, Prostar Wireless and Sprint/Nextel, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, and Skip Barber Racing School and all contest sponsors and each of their respective directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability arising out of or connected in any way with his or her participation in the contest, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities mentioned above.
The Station/s reserves the right to end the contest earlier than the date listed or to extend the length of the contest.
The Station/s, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process or who is otherwise in violation of the rules. It further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the contest if it is determined that it is not capable of completion as planned due to tampering, technical failures or any other cause.
All entry blanks, forms, devices, and materials gathered during the course of entry, as well as all information contained on or within, shall become the sole property of the KSAN-FM, KNBR-AM, and Cumulus Media Partners LLC to be used, disposed of or destroyed in their sole discretion.
By participating in the contest, all entrants and winners agree to give KSAN-FM, KNBR-AM, Cumulus Media Partners LLC, and their licensees, affiliates, successors, and assigns the irrevocable and unrestricted right to use, re-use, broadcast, or publish my name, city of residence, photo, video tape, film or any other likeness, including portraits and pictures, in whole or in part, as part of a composite, retouched or distorted in character or form, and winner’s voice, recorded or live, for any reason they deem necessary without compensation, unless prohibited by law. All winners further acknowledge that KSAN-FM, KNBR-AM, and Cumulus Media Partners LLC own or will own exclusively any photographs of such winners used for such purposes, including the copyrights in them, regardless of the form in which they have been or may be produced and used, and all winners assign all such ownership rights to KSAN-FM, KNBR-AM, and Cumulus Media Partners LLC.
