Every weekday morning, KNBR listeners join Paul McCaffrey and Brian Murphy on KNBR 680 to talk about everything from sports and entertainment to politics. Murph and Mac are consistently witty and entertaining from 5AM to 9AM, attracting Morning drivers on their way to work and captivating audiences around the Bay Area.
In 1997 Paul McCaffrey joined the KNBR team when he moved back to San Francisco and was hired as a creative and commercial writer. During this time, Paulie got his first on-air experience as well, occasionally hosting hour long shows on KNBR’s sister station, formally known as The Ticket 1050. After a few months of substitute show hosting, Paulie was hired as a full time co-host of the morning show on The Ticket 1050. In 2003 Paulie made the transition to KNBR’s sister station, 107.7 The Bone, where he was a DJ. It was during this time that Paulie met Brian Murphy, and in February 2006, the two joined together to co-host the Morning Show on KNBR 680.
Brian Murphy has had a successful career in broadcasting, most noticeably as The San Francisco Chronicle’s golf writer, following the very best in the PGA. As an occasional guest of the Razor and Mr. T Show, he gained incredible popularity. He has been noted as a natural broadcaster and someone with presence. Murphy will continue to write for Yahoo! while doing the KNBR broadcast.
Paulie and Brian bring a variety of sport knowledge, political repartee and musical entertainment to the KNBR Morning Show. Whether they’re singing the National Anthem at a Giants game or performing on air musical parodies about current athletes, Murph and Mac constantly finds new ways to entertain the morning audience with their views and takes on the sports world.
