What do athletes do with all of this time off during the NBA Finals?

With two days to kill in between Games 1 and 2, Steve Kerr encouraged his team to get basketball of their minds Friday night.

Kerr followed his own advice, too.

The head coach attended the Paul Simon concert at the Greek Theatre in Berkley on Friday, and got a roaring ovation once the crowd noticed he was there.

“It was fantastic,” Kerr told reporters on Saturday. “He’s still got it. He’s 74. His voice sounds exactly like he was 30 years old. His music is brilliant. I kind of grew up on it. Had a chance to meet him after the show, and it was a great experience. Yeah, it was kind of nice to get away from basketball for a couple hours.”

Steph Curry’s wife Ayesha is becoming her own respective superstar in the cooking world, and hosted a popup restaurant called International Smoke, with a barbecue theme. The event was held at Michael Mina’s Test Kitchen on Greenwich street in San Francisco.

Among the celebrity attendees was rapper Drake. Curry’s rise to prominence has included a friendship with one of the world’s most recognized musicians. Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green hung out at Drake’s house in Toronto during All-Star weekend.

Hey, everyone’s got to have some fun in the pressure packed month of June. It can’t be basketball all the time. Part of the Warriors’ appeal is that they’re down to earth guys who love going out in public and mixing it up with fans.
