Madison Bumgarner’s high school coach Jeff Parham joined the Audible on Monday to talk about how the Giants’ ace has always loved the big moments, and gave a very interesting answer when asked what Bumgarner would’ve done if baseball didn’t work out.
“He might’ve been a boxer,” Parham said.
“I used to see that same old stare. I remember we played Butler in the fourth round of the state playoffs, and this kid came up to bat running his mouth. I called time and walked out (to the mound) and Madison has that stare…He throws two strikes, then throws one over his head. Then the next pitch he throws on the outside part of the plate. The kid kind’ve backs out and swings. That’s the kind’ve competitor that he is.”
