Steph Curry caps Warriors’ 50-point quarter with buzzer-beater three

OAKLAND – Everyone was wondering how the Warriors would come out of the All-Star break. What would their energy be? How would they react to a Clippers team without its leader and point guard, Chris Paul. A team they had blown out earlier this season by 47 points.

The answer for the the first couple of quarters was: Not so well.

By the the end of the third quarter, the Warriors had put up the most points of any quarter they’ve had so far this season at an even 50. Why that’s ridiculous:

  • It was the Warriors’ first 50-point quarter since the 1989 season
  • It was the first 50-point quarter in the NBA since the Lakers achieved it in 2014
  • The Warriors put up more points in the third quarter than they scored in the first half: 49

Oh, and here’s the latest bout of silliness coming from the reigning MVP as time was winding down in a quarter yet again.

Things got so out of control, the entire Warriors bench got a technical foul for excessive celebration…
