SCOTTSDALE – C.J. Hinojosa was born in Houston, Texas and went on to play for the University of Texas in Austin, where he had a strong College World Series performance.

A right-handed short stop, Hinojosa’s game revolves around his play at the plate, with the ability to control the strike zone and hit the ball to all areas of the park. Drafted in the 11th round of the 2015 MLB draft, MLB.com has him ranked as a top 20 talent in the San Francisco Giants farm system, and expect him to arrive in the majors next year.

“It’s a great opportunity to be out here,” said Hijojosa. “It’s my second spring training, first big league spring training.”

“I just get better every day and continue improving every day. And wherever I end up is where I end up.”
