San Francisco – Johnny Cueto kicked off the yearly pre-season Bay Bridge clash between the San Francisco Giants and the Oakland Athletics, and he was everything Giants fans could have hoped for.
The crafty righty pitched 5.0 scoreless innings, with no walks, six hits and two strikeouts.
After the game, reporters asked Cueto it it was his idea to turn off the radar gun that shows the crowd the speed of the pitcher’s pitch (the radar gun at AT&T was off the entire game).
Cueto gave possibly the most Johnny Cueto answer he could have, simply stating, ‘If I want to throw it really fast, I throw fast.’
