Woodson: JaVale McGee has been “found money” for the Warriors, despite negative NBA labels

Ray Woodson joined us in the KNBR Digital Lounge to discuss JaVale McGee’s impact on the Warriors since coming to Oakland as the final roster spot in 2016.

It’s up in the air whether or not McGee will stay with the Warriors after the 2017 postseason; it’s possible he might help the Dubs win another Championship and then opt for a better contract with a new team.

Although McGee’s has been harshly labelled in the NBA as “undisciplined” and unable to stay on the same team, he has proved himself as a valuable asset to the Dubs’ success. As Woodson stated, “He always hustles, he always brings the energy, he runs the floor which is huge for an up-tempo team like the Warriors, and he can protect the rim.” In Wednesday’s Game 2 playoff game, McGee made 6 of 6 shots in the first half against the Trailblazers.
