SAN FRANCISCO – There’s only one pitcher in MLB history that has more hits against Dodger lefty Clayton Kershaw than Ty Blach does.

Back during the final series of 2016 Blach threw a masterful game against Kershaw in his first ever start and helped himself out by adding two hits. On that day, Kershaw pitched Blach down and away. Bumgarner told Blach that Kershaw would take a different approach Tuesday night.
“Madison came up before the game and said, ‘Hey he’s going to probably try to throw you up and in since he threw you away last time,’” Blach said. “So I was kind of looking for a pitch in that vicinity. Luckily that’s where I was looking and I just threw it there.”
Blach is now 3-for-5 with a run and a double in his career against Kershaw.
Maybe the Giants will bring him off the bench to pinch hit against the lefty in the future. Or maybe they won’t. But if they do…KNBR.com be right there with the coverage.
