SAN FRANCISCO – Monday night the San Francisco Giants beat their rivals the Los Angeles Dodgers after an offensive breakout in the 4th inning.

The Giants and Dodgers were toe to toe until the Giants bats came alive in an odd turn of events that left Dodgers pitcher Brandon  McCarthy confused. This odd play was the turning point in a game vital for the Giants. Giants manager Bruce Bochy credited the base running to the Giants strong offense tonight.

“We did a lot of good things we were really aggressive on the bases, they were aggressive tonight and played well.”

The starting pitcher for the Giants Matt Cain was glad to have the offensive support especially after the Dodgers rallied in the 9th inning.

“The guys were swinging the bat the past few days really well and we were just trying to figure out if we could get McCarthy to make some mistakes”

Bochy also spoke highly of Cain’s start today as he let him go 112 pitches in 6 2/3. Cain came up with 5 Ks and only allowed 1 run.

“His stamina is back, his strength is there. He just did a nice job of pitching”

Giants hope to continue their momentum into game 2 against the Dodgers as Blach and Hill match up.
