According to the report from KTVU, Brock was also charged with misdemeanor child endangerment and could face up to five years in prison if convicted. On April 6 of this year Brock’s girlfriend reported to police he had assaulted her that day and had attempted to strangle her several days prior. The alleged incident reportedly left the victim with visible marks on her neck.
Brock was released by the 49ers the day after the arrest, on April 7. He played seven seasons with the team after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2010. This past season, he started all 16 games for the first time in his career and recorded 58 combined tackles and an interception, the 11th of his career.
Brock is reportedly scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon.
