Isiah Thomas: ‘I don’t think our league has ever seen a player like Kevin Durant’

Kevin Durant has been nothing short of remarkable in this year’s NBA Finals. The former MVP has taken over every game of the series so far, and put the Warriors in a very comfortable position with an almost insurmountable 3-0 series lead.

In one of the the most pivotal moments of Game 3, Durant nailed a shot from behind the arc to put the Warriors a one-point lead with 45 seconds to go as they went on to win 118-113.

NBA Hall of Fame guard Isiah Thomas told Murph & Mac Thursday that the shot was beautiful to watch.

“I just saw an undeniable will to win,” Thomas said. “Also the hours and hours of practice that he’s put into his game that gave him confidence. It was like poetry just watching him take that [last] shot.”

Thomas said that Durant is a uniquely talented player, the likes of which don’t come around often in the NBA.

“Kevin Durant is a once in a lifetime player,” Thomas said, “I don’t think our league has ever seen a player like a Kevin Durant who is so unique. Let’s not forget he’s averaging [34 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists] in the NBA Finals, you just don’t do that.”
