Thunder’s Kanter takes shot at Durant after Westbrook wins NBA MVP

The Thunder’s Russell Westbrook deservingly took home the NBA MVP Award Monday night, capping off a remarkable season for the scoring champion. After an emotional speech by Westbrook, his teammate Enes Kanter tweeted out a photo of himself and Westbrook with an interesting caption.

“The Real MVP” is a reference to when Durant called his mother “the real MVP” during his own MVP award acceptance speech back in 2014. Kanter has been taking jabs at Durant both on and off the court all season. During a game back in November, Kanter and Durant were caught jawing with each other and they have been seen exchanging words in almost every game between the Thunder and Warriors this season.

Kanter has been throwing shade at his former teammate since he left Oklahoma City for the Warriors last summer, but Durant has a title and a Finals MVP, so it looks like he’s come out on top so far.
