Rudy Ortiz of KNBR 1050’s The Audible joins the digital lounge to discuss the MLB All-Star game.

Despite some recent criticism surrounding All-Star weekend, Ortiz believes the game is still important and entertaining.

“The All-Star game is very symbolic of what baseball is,” says Ortiz. “It’s tradition, it’s building memories, it’s having moments that you can look back on and enjoy.”

Rudy looked back on his own favorite moments in All-Star game history, including Bo Jackson’s lead-off homerun in the 1989 All-Star game and the 2001 All-Star game, when Alex Rodriguez moved to third base to allow Cal Ripken jr. play shortstop in his final All-Star game.

For more coverage of the MLB All-Star game and the San Francisco Giants, tune in to The Audible from 6 to 9 a.m. every Monday through Friday on KNBR 1050, the sports leader.
