Kevin Durant’s been dealing with jokes about his departure from Oklahoma City for over a year now, and he had to expect some more coming at tonight’s ESPY awards. Sure enough, in host Peyton Manning’s monologue, he hit KD with a joke about wanting to join the U.S. women’s gymnastics team because of their dominance at the 2016 Olympics.
The camera cut to Durant two different times, and he appeared none too pleased by Manning’s humor. At one point, Durant was covering his face, possibly stifling a laugh. Despite Durant giving Manning a stink eye, his mother Wanda could be seen laughing next to him. Manning ended the joke by asking what Russell Westbrook thought about Durant’s chances with the U.S. gymnastics squad, and Westbrook didn’t bite either. Check out the video of the exchange below.
