SAN FRANCISCO – Jeff Samardzija on Saturday allowed 2 hits, 1 run and struck out 9 to leave room for a 2-1 walk off win in extra innings.

Samardzija has allowed just two earned runs over his last three starts, earning a 0.82 ERA in those games.

“Probably as good as we’ve seen all year,” Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. “Both [pitchers] were just hitting their spots and staying out of the heart of the plate.”

Bochy attributed Samardzija’s last great start as a source of momentum going into today’s game and Samardzija’s numbers have backed this trust from the Giants’ manager.

“It’s good to pick up Samardzija,” Bochy said. “After last night you hate to loose those game you think you should win so you feel like you got it back today.”

Even the walk off hero Nick Hundely attributed the win to Samardzija limiting the damage.

“Shark might have been better today that his complete game shutout in San Diego” Hundley Said.

The Giants finish the series tomorrow with a 1:05 start.
