Klay Thompson throws football around between taking jump shots

OAKLAND–Klay Thompson comes from an athletic family.

His father Mychal was the first pick in the 1978 NBA Draft, and played for 13 seasons in the Association. His younger brother Trayce is an outfielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and his older brother Mychel is in the Warriors system in Santa Cruz, with a solid collegiate on his resume as well.

You’d expect an All-American family like to have a healthy appetite for backyard football, so it makes sense that Klay looked comfortable when someone brought a pigskin to the Warriors practice facility Thursday afternoon.

Klay also looked like he played a little baseball growing up, when he threw a strike this summer when the Athletics asked him to toss the first pitch at the end of july.

What’s next? Maybe a frisbee. Or some soccer. At this juncture, we can only speculate.
