When you’re 0-4 the quarterback usually is the first person to be blamed, and in this case maybe rightfully so.
After the Niners fourth straight loss some are beginning to wonder if backup quarterback Brian Hoyer can carry his young team to victory. Even under the new stewardship of Kyle Shanahan the 49ers offense has left more than little to be desired.
“I think coming up this Sunday though, this is it,” said Garry Radnich. “If the 49ers do not prevail then I think you go to the rookie Beathard.”
Beathard made a few preseason appearances but has not started yet in the regular season. The Indianapolis Colts are 1-3 so far and losing to them could mean a change of heart for Coach Shanahan.
“You might as well look to the future,” said Radnich. “You go 0-5 then it’s time to bring in Beathard.”
