Dodgers’ Seager left off NLCS roster

The Los Angeles Dodgers released their NLCS 25-man roster today for their series against the Cubs, and it contains a startling omission.

Corey Seager, their wunderkind starting shortstop and an integral part of their record-breaking 104-win season in 2017, was not on the roster.

According to multiple reports, Seager has struggled with back issues since NLDS Game 3 against the Diamondbacks.

Former San Francisco Giants infielder Charlie Culberson replaced Seager on the roster.

However, the Dodgers could still activate Seager for a portion of the series if they place another player on the disabled list.

Regardless, this is a critical development that could adversely affect the Dodgers’ quest to legitimize their 104-58 record and win their first World Series championship since 1988.
