Draymond Green picks up first technical foul of season after shoving DeMarcus Cousins

The Draymond Green technical foul watch is officially on.

Midway through the second quarter of the Warriors’ first road contest of the season against the New Orleans Pelicans, Green picked up his first technical foul of the season after shoving New Orleans center DeMarcus Cousins.

Green was clearly upset with the officials’ decision to allow Cousins to impose himself over Green before an inbound pass, and Green argued with the officiating crew to the point where Steph Curry and Shaun Livingston needed to help restrain their teammate.

The Warriors are struggling through a lackluster start against the hot-shooting Pelicans, and often times, Golden State responds well when Green gets involved in games on an emotional level.

The fact Green was able to play at all on Friday was a bit of a surprise after he exited Tuesday evening’s season-opener against the Houston Rockets with a knee strain.
