Yes, you read that right.

After weeks and months of rumors placing Giancarlo Stanton in either San Francisco or St. Louis, the most sought-after talent in MLB ahead of the 2018 season is headed to the Big Apple.

The New York Yankees have executed a blockbuster trade, agreeing to terms with the Miami Marlins in a trade that will send the 2017 National League MVP New York City, according to MLB.com.

The Yankees will reportedly send Starlin Castro and two prospects to the Marlins to complete a deal that now gives New York the top power hitter in baseball, and a lineup featuring 3-4-5 hitters who combined for 144 home runs last season. Stanton has 10 years and $295 million remaining on a record-breaking contract, $265 million of which the Yankees are expected to take on.

Stanton finished the 2017 season with a career-high 59 home runs and 132 RBIs, compiling a .281 average and an OPS of just over 1.000. He’s set to become the everyday right fielder in New York for the foreseeable future and help the Yankees challenge the Houston Astros for the scariest lineup in baseball.
