It runs in the family.
Warriors’ point guard Steph Curry is known for taking and making ridiculous shots during games, but Curry’s antics at Oracle Arena during pregame warmups are always a sight to behold. Whether he’s dribbling the basketball with his feet or nailing shots from the tunnel, Curry is one of the primary reasons Golden State fans arrive early.
It turns out, Curry isn’t the only sharpshooter in his family. Steph’s father Dell spent 16 season in the NBA, and he hasn’t lost much of his shooting touch since his retirement. Dell was in town on Friday night for the Warriors’ showdown with the Hornets (He’s now Charlotte’s TV analyst), and with the Oracle Arena crowd needing a Curry highlight, it was Dell, not Steph, who provided a signature pregame moment.
After knocking down a deep shot during warmups back on February 1, Dell nearly sunk another long-range missile from halfcourt. This time, though, the bank was closed.
