The first Super Bowl odds for the 2018 season were released on Monday, and indicate that oddsmakers have certainly been influenced by Jimmy Garoppolo and the 49ers’ 5-0 run to end the 2017 season. San Francisco sits as the 11th most likely team to win the Super Bowl next year at 20/1, according to the Westgate Las Vegas Sportsbook. The 49ers sit one spot behind the Seattle Seahawks, and tied or ahead of four teams that made the playoffs this year: the Jaguars, Panthers, Chiefs, and Titans.

After starting the season 1-10 with a combination of Brian Hoyer and C.J. Beathard at quarterback, the 49ers had a +45 point differential in their remaining five games with Garoppolo, which would’ve been good for 11th in the league, between two 10-6 teams. The 49ers also enter the offseason with over $100 million in cap room, and either the ninth or 10th pick in the NFL Draft, depending on a coin flip with the Oakland Raiders.
Despite their 6-10 record, Football Outsiders’ model had the 49ers as the 12th best team in the league at the conclusion of the 2017 season, and the 8th ranked offense.
