Giants announce 2018 promotions schedule

The Giants released the complete 2018 Promotions Schedule which will feature giveaways and events celebrating the team’s 60 years in San Francisco, traditional fan favorites, retro inspired and kids only giveaways and a Giants Wall of Fame ceremony. The Giants will honor Matt Cain and Ryan Vogelsong on Saturday, July 28, when they will be enshrined with bronze plaques on the Giants Wall of Fame. The afternoon ceremony will take place along King Street prior to the Brewers versus Giants game which starts at 6:05 p.m. PT. The Giants Wall of Fame serves as a living tribute to the organization’s greatest players. It recognizes retired players whose records stand highest among their teammates on the basis of longevity and achievements.

On Sunday, June 3, the Giants will mark the 25th anniversary of their Until There’s A Cure® Day presented by Gilead Sciences and the Giants Community Fund. In 1994, the Giants became the first-ever professional sports team to host an HIV/AIDS awareness game.

In addition to the promotional days and giveaways, the Giants also released their 2018 Special Events Schedule. All special events require the purchase of a special event ticket to participate in designated activities and receive the special event giveaway item. Special events include college nights with Stanford (Apr. 4); San Jose State (Apr. 6); San Francisco State (April 9); Cal (April 10); University of San Francisco (April 24); St. Mary’s College (May 1); and Santa Clara University (May 18). This year’s heritage celebrations include Irish Heritage Night (Apr. 9); Chinese Heritage Night (Apr. 10); Japanese Heritage Night (May 15); Filipino Heritage Night 1 (May 17); Korean Heritage Night (June 4); Portuguese Heritage Night (June 5); Native American Heritage Night (June 18); Polynesian Heritage Night (July 27); Italian Heritage Night (Aug. 24); Jewish Heritage Night (Aug. 29); and African American Heritage Night (Sept. 28). Other popular special events include Metallica Night (Apr. 23); MARVEL Day (Apr. 24); #BayAreaUnite Night with the Golden State Warriors (Apr. 30); STAR WARS®Day (May 18); Autism Awareness Night (June 1); Brewfest (June 2); LGBT Night (June 21); Girl Scouts Day (June 24); Firefighter Appreciation Night (June 26); Law Enforcement Appreciation (July 26); HELLO KITTY® Day (July 29); Jerry Garcia Tribute Night (Aug. 9); Bruce Lee Tribute (Aug. 28); STAR TREK® (Aug. 31); Pediatric Cancer & Fellowship Day (Sept. 1); Peanuts® Day (Sept. 14); STAR WARS® Day (Sept. 16); tokidoki Night (Sept. 25); Oktoberfest (Sept. 26); and Fiesta Gigantes (Sept. 29). Spring Training tickets are currently on sale. The Giants’ 2018 spring schedule kicks off Friday, February 23 with four games at Scottsdale Stadium in February, including February 25, 26 & 27, and 12 games in March.
