Durant reveals he was No. 1 pick in All-Star Draft in “My Next Chapter” post

OAKLAND–Kevin Durant strikes again.

On Thursday evening, the Warriors’ forward revealed LeBron James selected him with the first overall choice in the inaugural NBA All-Star Draft, separating Durant from Golden State teammate and the game’s other captain, Steph Curry.

For the first time ever, the top vote-getter in each conference was tasked with drafting their own All-Star teams from the 22 other players selected to the game, and James held the advantage of having the first overall pick. Though Curry likely would have scooped up his fellow MVP, James took Durant ahead of every other player on the board.

Curry was able to keep the Warriors’ core together, as he picked Klay Thompson and Draymond Green when the two captains drafted their All-Star reserves.

Durant’s Instagram story from Thursday night trolled Curry, as he revised his “My Next Chapter” Players’ Tribune cover that he used to announce his decision to sign with Golden State in the summer of 2016. In the updated “My Next Chapter” post, Durant placed James’ face in the center of his shirt and let the world know that he was in fact the No. 1 pick in the All-Star draft.
