Irving thinks it’s “bull—-” that Klay Thompson has never made an NBA All-Defense team

OAKLAND – After only seven years in the NBA, Klay Thompson’s NBA resume is quickly filling up. He was named to the All-Rookie team in 2012, became a two-time All-NBA shooting guard, two-time Finals champion, and now a four-time All-Star.

Thompson has accomplished so much in his career that Kyrie Irving wrongfully assumed he’d already been named to one of the NBA’s All-Defensive teams during a post-game interview following Boston’s 109-105 loss to the Warriors. When Irving learned he hadn’t, he commended Thompson’s defensive ability.

“That’s some bullshit,” Irving told masslive.com. “You know what I mean? Yeah, so I guess you could consider him underrated.”

The two NBA champions that Thompson has to his name came at the expense of Irving and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Irving faced Thompson and the Warriors in the last three NBA Finals, where he not only won the first championship of his career, but also learned to respect Golden State’s 27-year-old shooting guard.
