One day before the 49ers first practice of the season, and Richard Sherman is $2 million richer.
The four-time Pro Bowl cornerback passed his pre-training camp physical, fully clearing him for practice on Thursday.
Richard Sherman has been cleared. He will practice Thursday. His schedule is two days on, one day off.

Clearing the physical also triggers a $2 million bonus in his contract according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. In March, Sherman signed a a 3-year, $27.15 million deal with the 49ers, only $7 million of which was guaranteed.
Sherman spent all offseason working his way back from an Achilles rupture sustained on November 9 of last season. Sherman underwent surgery for that injury, and surgery on his left heel earlier this year to remove bone spurs.
Setting last year’s injury-shortened season aside, Sherman, 30, has made four consecutive Pro Bowls, and is still considered one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL when healthy.
