Hunter Pence receives massive standing ovation from AT&T Park

San Francisco – Hunter Pence’s future with the San Francisco Giants is uncertain (at best), but the support for him from the fans at AT&T Park on Sunday was not.

Pence’s five-year contract with the Giants expires after Sunday’s game, and with the outfielder posting career low numbers in batting average, OPB, and slugging–among others–many expect this game to be the fan favorite’s last.

At the top of the inning, Pence was the first to leave the dugout while his teammates held back as he ran out to left field. In the bottom half of the very same inning, Giants manager Bruce Bochy elected to trot his veteran out at the top of the lineup.

When he got to the plate, AT&T Park got to it’s feet and thanked the man who was traded to the Giants in 2012–helping the team win two of it’s three most recent World Series titles.
