Myers, Kerr address Draymond Green suspension

OAKLAND – The Warriors are experiencing their most uncomfortable situation in recent memory. Last night, Draymond Green and Kevin Durant jawed at each other following a turnover from Green to end the fourth quarter in a 106-106 tie with the Los Angeles Clippers. The Warriors went on to lose their third game of the season 121-116 in overtime, and today, Green was suspended for tonight’s game due to “conduct detrimental to the team.”

The disagreement between Green and Durant reportedly continued into the locker room, and Green apparently confronted Durant about his impending free agency.

Green’s suspension amounted to a $120,480 figure, and the decision, according to Bob Myers, the Warriors’ president of basketball operations, was a joint one between him and head coach Steve Kerr.

According to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes, Green apparently called Durant a “bitch” repeatedly during the altercation.

Both Myers and Kerr declined to provide specifics on what Green did that crossed the line. However, Myers said that Green and Durant had not talked yet and he wasn’t sure about their relationship being mended.

“I don’t know about that,” Myers said. “They haven’t talked. I’m sure they will talk.”

Myers and Kerr also rejected the insinuation that Durant’s free agency has been a distraction.

“Nobody ever talks about Kevin’s free agency,” Kerr said. “It doesn’t bother any of us.”
