George Kittle might be openly courting Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown via Twitter, but it’s another All-Pro wide receiver that the 49ers might make a play for this offseason.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, there is “already buzz” that if Odell Beckham Jr. is placed on the trading block this offseason, the 49ers will pursue the three-time Pro Bowler.

Beckham, 26, has five years and $74 million remaining on the long-term deal he signed last August. The contract is considered much more tradable than Brown’s, which would require the Steelers to pay a $21 million penalty if the receiver is traded this offseason. The Giants would have to absorb a $16 million cap charge according to Florio, but could also write off the $17 million Beckham is owed next year, plus whatever they acquire in a potential deal.

Beckham gained 1,052 receiving yards and caught six touchdowns while appearing in 12 games for the Giants this year. Beckham has made the Pro Bowl in three of his first five seasons since being selected by New York with the 12th overall pick in the 2014 draft.

The Giants have reportedly been open to listening to offers for Beckham since last offseason. The 49ers have been in the market for a true No. 1 wide receiver since John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan took over.
