The Warriors’ lineup this season has been touted as a so-called “death lineup” of five All-Stars, featuring Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and DeMarcus Cousins. While all five made last year’s All-Star game, such is not the case this year. Curry and Durant were both voted starters, while Cousins had no shot, leaving Thompson and Green to vie for reserve spots.
Thompson ended up getting the nod for his fifth-straight season, while Green, who had made the Western team for the past three years, but missed 15 games this season, was left off. Head coach Steve Kerr said he doubted that the Warriors would get four All-Star this season, and his prediction was spot on.
“I doubt it,” Kerr said. “I don’t think so… (Draymond) was not playing at an All-Star level for the first few weeks of the season. My guess is he won’t make it.”
