The Giants have inked veteran outfielder Gerardo Parra to minor-league deal, as first reported by Jon Heyman of MLB Network. Parra, 31, has spent the past three seasons as an everyday player for the Rockies, and can play all three outfield positions.

The 10-year veteran posted a solid slash line of .284/.342/.372 with six homers, 17 doubles and 11 stolen bases in 2018. Parra previously spent time with the Diamondbacks, Brewers, and Orioles, and won the Gold Glove in 2011 and 2013.
Farhan Zaidi has said he wants to add two veteran outfielders this offseason, and it would seem that Parra falls into that category. As it currently stands, Parra will compete in spring training with Chris Shaw, Steven Duggar, and Austin Slater for the three outfield spots. Duggar is considered the favorite to win the job in center field.
