The Warriors intend to re-sign Andrew Bogut once he receives a letter of clearance from his Australian league team, the Sydney Kings, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

Bogut, 34, is coming off a dominant season in his native country, where he was named MVP and Defensive Player of the Year of the Australian National Basketball League. Bogut averaged 11.4 points and led the league with 11.6 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game. Bogut played sparingly in just 23 games with the Lakers last season before being waived.

Bogut was the Warriors’ starting center from 2012-2016, winning the NBA title in 2015. Bogut was traded by Golden State after the conclusion of the 2016 season, to free up cap space to sign Kevin Durant. He has played in just 50 NBA games since then.

Golden State has had their 15th roster spot open all season. Bogut would become just the second veteran center on the Warriors’ roster, with Kevon Looney and Jordan Bell currently splitting time behind DeMarcus Cousins.
