There are still a few more boxes to check before the Raiders can play in Oakland’s Coliseum this year.

After a two-month roller coaster, the Raiders have agreed to play the 2019 season — and potentially the 2020 season if their Las Vegas mega-stadium isn’t finished — in Oakland. The contract includes $7.5 million in rent in 2019 and $10.5 million in 2020.

But the organization needs three votes of approval before the deal is solidified. Three public entities — the Coliseum Authority, Oakland City Council, and Alameda County Board of Supervisors — must sign off.

Initially, the vote was scheduled to take place this Wednesday, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s Michael Gehlken. But that meeting will reportedly feature a closed session. The actual vote has been moved back and is expected to take place some time next week, according to the above report. The Coliseum Authority, comprised of city and county reps, will first vote during an open-session meeting. The other two entities will vote at a later date.

Many close to the Raiders lease discussions consider the pact an inevitability,” Gehlken wrote.
