Steph throws half-court behind-the-back pass to Durant for dunk

LOS ANGELES – When you saw the Warriors would play the Lakers late in the season, were you hoping for a close game? Maybe Kevin Durant and LeBron James would go head-to-head in a classic regular season matchup.

Well, that’s not happening. Since James shut his season down a few days ago, the Lakers are essentially starting a team of role guys, or starters who only work in their role with other good players on the floor. Tonight’s starting lineup of Rajon Rondo, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Alex Caruso, Moritz Wagner and JaVale McGee versus the Warriors’ All-Star lineup of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and DeMarcus Cousins, was as some might, say, lopsided.

Within the first four minutes, Draymond Green had blocked a pair of shots and scored five points as the Warriors shut down any semblance of a Lakers offense. Then, with about five minutes left in the quarter, Curry secured a loose ball and shot a behind-the-back pass half the length of the court to Kevin Durant, who slammed it down in transition. By the end of the quarter, the Warriors led the Lakers 39-12.
