After Klay Thompson’s big contribution of 32 points in LA, reporters were left wondering if something had changed.
Turns out all it took was a day at the beach with teammate Jonas Jerekbo and a spur of the moment decision to jump into the ocean.
“I don’t think I had bad games, but I didn’t have any big games,” Thompson said. “I just told Jonas yesterday, we went to the beach played some volleyball. I was like, ‘Yo, I’m just going to jump in the ocean. I just know that will reset my mind,’ and it worked.”
However, Thompson isn’t so sure of his new good luck charm, especially when it comes to the frigid waters of the Bay Area.
“I don’t know if I’ll jump up north because it’s freezing, but definitely something I’ll contemplate if I’m not shooting the ball well the rest of the year.”
Thompson further explained off the court.

Teammate Steph Curry saw Thompson returning from his beach day later at the hotel.
Curry talked about how Thompson's vibe made him smile after he saw him walk through the hotel with a wet t-shirt and shades.
