Durant’s manager says Durant ‘100 percent undecided’ on where he’ll sign in offseason

The speculation over Kevin Durant’s future has been one of the most oversaturated topics of NBA drama this season, but according to Durant’s manager and business partner Rich Kleiman, no decision has been made. Kleiman attended the Wall Street Journal’s WSJ Future of Everything Festival and sat down for an interview with WSJ sports reporter Jason Gay. Gay asked Kleiman the obvious question about Durant’s future and potential signing with the New York Knicks, which to some, is a foregone conclusion.

“That is 100 percent undecided and I’m waiting on Kevin,” Kleiman said. “I think there’s a feeling that this is like war games and everybody’s playing chess like years out. But when somebody gets to the level of basketball that he’s at, you can’t juggle focus like that. There are so many things he’s juggling too. He’s not scripting his future while he’s playing the way he plays and practices the way he practices.”

Kleiman expressed frustration at the speculation, but said he understands it.

“It’s frustrating, honestly, at times. I get it,” Kleiman said. “I do get it. Even as a kid the kind of soap opera of it all was just beginning and I liked it. Now, in some ways, it’s like more soap opera at times than basketball. But he really doesn’t know and I really don’t know.”
