Kerr says Klay Thompson told him he will be ‘fine’

With about a minute-and-a-half gone by in the fourth quarter in Game 2 of the NBA Finals, Klay Thompson landed awkwardly after a shot and seemed to be hurt. It wasn’t until two minutes later, with 7:59 left on the game clock, that Thompson walked off the court and into the Warriors’ locker room with an injury.

Thompson was ruled out of the game with what ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne reported to be “hamstring tightness.”

After the game, head coach Steve Kerr said Thompson told him he’ll be “fine,” although according to Kerr, Thompson has a different definition of being “fine” than most.

“Klay said he’ll be fine, but he could be half dead and he’d say he’s fine,” Kerr said. “We’ll see, he pulled his hamstring. He thinks it’s minor, so I don’t know what that means going forward, and [Kevo Looney], something with his shoulder, so we’ll see.”

According to Chris Haynes, Thompson says he has no intention of missing time, telling Haynes, “No, I don’t see myself missing Game 3.”
