Giants top prospect Joey Bart has been on the shelf for the past month, recovering from a fractured hand after being hit by a pitch. The catcher was back in the lineup for Single-A San Jose on Tuesday and wasted no time picking up where he left off, mashing a two-run homer in his second at-bat.
In his second major league season, Bart, 22, is posting a .882 OPS and has knocked in eight runs in just 10 games. Bart was stellar in his rookie season last year, mashing 13 home runs in 51 games while posting a slash line of .294/.364/.588 in low-A ball.
