Kevin Durant’s season is likely done. The Warriors star suffered an Achilles injury in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, clutching his right ankle area after trying to make a cut to his left while being defended by Serge Ibaka. Durant hadn’t played in an NBA game since suffering the injury on May 8 in the Western Conference Semifinals against the Houston Rockets.
“Dubs nation gonna be loud as fuck for game 6. I’m hurting deep in the soul right now I can’t lie but seeing my brothers get this win was like taking a shot of tequila, I got new life lol.”
The reaction from Durant came after finding out what the Warriors President of Basketball Operations Bob Myers announced at a postgame press conference, which is that Durant suffered an Achilles injury. Myers said he couldn’t speak to exactly what the injury was, but was visibly emotional and failing to hold back tears, while defending the team’s medical staff.
