Visibly distraught Drake consoles Durant as he walks off court with Achilles injury

For all the drama and hype about rapper Drake and his friendly beef with the Warriors, the reality is that Drake is friends with many on the Warriors’ roster. He, Draymond Green and Alfonzo McKinnie met for dinner after Game 1 of the NBA Finals, and Drake has tattoos of both Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant’s numbers on his bicep, both of which he notoriously covered up in Game 1.

“I think so many people make a big deal out of it. It is what it is,” Green said about Drake’s antics after Game 1. “He’s a fan. He talks, and it gets more attention because he’s Drake. So many people are complaining about it, like, ‘You don’t let any other fan do that.’ Yeah, any other fan is just not Drake, so they probably shouldn’t be able to do that. That’s just kind of how the cookie crumbles.”

What was clear in Game 5 is that regardless of Drake being a Raptors fan and going back and forth with some of the Warriors players, he’s an NBA fan, and a friend of Durant at heart. You can see his reaction above, in which he appears to be shaken by Durant’s injury and tries to console him as he walked off the court.
