Eric Paschall was projected to go in the late first round of the 2019 NBA Draft. The senior forward from Villanova University played a key role in winning a national title in his junior year, and was known for his relentless motor. Instead, he dropped to the second round, where the Golden State Warriors selected him with the 41st overall pick.

Paschall, a client of CAA, and a friend of Donovan Mitchell, the Utah Jazz’s star guard and Rookie of the Year runner-up in 2017 ,appeared to be at a post-draft party. There, Mitchell congratulated him with a message of motivation, and a little bit of trash talk.
“They texted you,” Mitchell said. “Congratulations. They texted you congratulations… I’m saying all this to say, bro, you worked your ass off to get here. Don’t let 41 get in your head boy. Don’t let that shit get in your head… You are one of 450 dudes in this world. 450 bro. Now look, I’m going to have to beat your ass four times a year.”
