Andre Iguodala does not often shy away from sharing his opinion. On a Friday morning appearance with CNBC, in which he was promoting his new biography “The Sixth Man” (written by The Athletic’s Marcus Thompson), Iguodala took a jab at the New York Knicks, who some have speculated would sign Kevin Durant and/or Kyrie Irving this offseason, after discussing his friendship with Durant and Klay Thompson (at around the 10:30 mark) who are both unrestricted free agents.
“I think they’ll both be back with the Golden State Warriors,” Iguodala said. But regardless of any of that, if they both did decide to leave, they’d both still be my brothers, I’d still keep in contact with them as much as possible, and I just wish the best for both of those guys and that they come back full strength.”
When one of the show’s hosts said, “You’re crushing the Knicks fans over here,” Igoudala smiled, before retorting, “Nobody’s going to the Knicks, sorry.”
Of course, the Knicks, owned by James Dolan, don’t often take kindly to organizational criticism, and reportedly want Iguodala to be fined for his comments, according to The Athletic’s Frank Isola:
The Knicks want to fine Andre Iguodala for saying today on CNBC: "Nobody's going to the Knicks, sorry.”

The report that the Knicks want to fine Iguodala comes on the same morning that the Brooklyn Nets were made betting favorites to sign Kevin Durant over the Knicks, and the organization was fined $50,000 and came to an agreement with the NBA to allow the New York Daily News access to cover the organization’s events, after effectively banning them; a move which is against the NBA’s Media Access Rules.
