Kevin Durant to sign with Brooklyn Nets [report]

Kevin Durant’s official free agency decision will not come until later Sunday night. Durant will announce where he’s signing via The Boardroom’s Instagram account at 6 p.m. according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Durant has been pursued by four main suitors: the Warriors, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Clippers.

But according to Wojnarowski and The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Durant is heading to Brooklyn.

Durant will sign a four-year, $164 million max deal with the Nets.

The New York Times’ Mark Stein first reported that the Nets, who are planning to sign Kyrie Irving, were also confident of also signing Kevin Durant, as well as Durant’s friend DeAndre Jordan, who last played with the Knicks.

Stein reported less than an hour prior that the Nets would receive a formal commitment from Irving at the team’s practice facility essentially the moment the free agency period opens on Sunday, June 30 at 6 p.m. ET. He reported then that the team was pursuing the trio of Durant, Irving and Jordan, who the team now believes they are likely to sign. Irving is reported to be signing a four-year, $141 million max deal.
