For now Andre Iguodala is a member of the Memphis Grizzlies, but the three-time NBA champion could soon be on the move. The Grizzlies, who are in the middle of a full-on rebuild after trading Mike Conley, are exploring the trade market for Iguodala, who is in the final year of a $17.2 million contract. According to Tim MacMahon of ESPN, the Rockets and Mavericks are among the teams with interest.

Iguodala, 35, was traded to Memphis as a way to open up salary for the Warriors following the sign-and-trade of D’Angelo Russell who is on a max deal. Trading Iguodala would eliminate the possibility of Golden State signing Iguodala this year if he were to be bought out. If Iguodala is traded again, however, the Warriors would be eligible to re-sign him if he were to be bought out by that team.
A former client of Lakers GM Rob Pelinka, Iguodala was expected to sign with LA if he was bought out by Memphis, a scenario that seems less likely now. Andre averaged 5.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game as Golden State’s sixth man last regular season. Those averages increased to 9.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists during the playoffs, when Iguodala started the majority of the games.
