Alex Dickerson might not be human, homers in return to lineup

No mere bad back can slow Alexander the Great.

The legend of Alex Dickerson kept growing Tuesday, when the left fielder doubled in the second and then tried to really show he’s healthy again in the fourth inning.

With the Giants down 2-1, Dickerson took a 96-mph Yu Darvish fastball the other way, just clearing the left-center field fence to tie it up. A few batters later, Kevin Pillar hit a two-run double, and the Giants went from down 2-1 to up 4-2 at Oracle Park against the Cubs.

Dickerson has been in and out of the lineup the past week with back spasms, a concern for an outfielder who had back surgery two years ago. He insisted Monday, though, that this is more of an oblique soreness than back injury.
