49ers added Dolphins coach who resigned after snorting powdery substance [report]

It appears that Chris Foerster has found employment with the San Francisco 49ers once again.

Jenna Laine of ESPN is reporting that the 49ers brought on Foerster as a help to the team’s coaching staff earlier this year. Foerster is not listed on the team’s website, nor was any hiring announced by the team during the off-season, but Laine reports that two sources have confirmed Foerster is working with the 49ers.

Foerster made national news when he resigned as the Miami Dolphins offensive line coach on October 9, 2017 after a video surfaced of him snorting a white powdery substance off a desk.

“I am resigning from my position with the Miami Dolphins and accept full responsibility for my actions,” Foerster said in a statement after his resignation. “I want to apologize to the organization and my sole focus is on getting the help that I need with the support of my family and medical professionals.”

This would Foerster’s third stint with the 49ers. After bouncing around colleges and NFL teams Foerster served as the 49ers’ offensive line coach during the 2008-09 season. He left to coach in Washington for five seasons before returning to the 49ers for one more year, and then took the job with the Dolphins.

He has not worked in any official capacity for a NFL team since his resignation in 2017.
