49ers CEO Al Guido reveals Levi’s Stadium end zones to receive special paint job for playoffs

The 49ers might be in a new home, but they are sticking to old traditions.

49ers CEO Al Guido revealed to Murph & Mac on Tuesday that the Levi’s Stadium end zones will be painted red for Saturday’s postseason game vs. the Vikings, as they were at Candlestick Park for every postseason game. The end zones will also be updated (back dated?) with the old “Saloon” font the team used in their official logos during the previous era.

“We’re painting our end zones red,” Guido said. “We talked a lot about it in the offseason with the Saloon font and dialing back to the past and the history.”

The organization hasn’t had a chance to paint the end zones red during their tenure at Levi’s Stadium, missing the playoffs every year since their final season at Candlestick.
